o Earned 7th Dan in 2003.
o 1996 Appointed along with Mr. Paul Irvin as leaders of the UTF by
Grandmaster Han Cha Kyo in 1996.
o Promoted to 6th Dan and received Master status. Dr. Langlas received this
promotion in a ceremony performed by Grandmaster Nam Tae Hi in 1996.
o Master Langlas has owned an operated a UTF affiliated TKD school since
1980 in the western suburbs of Chicago.
o He has taught nearly 250 students to the rank of black belt
o Founder and Executive Director of Pathways for Achievement, a
not-for-profit organization aimed as helping at-risk teenagers learn Taekwon-Do,
get tutoring help with their schoolwork, and perform community service.
(This is a UTF sanctioned organization.) Pathway programs are taught by
volunteer adults and basic funding is provided by private donors, small
businesses and corporations.
o Member of the 1974 World Champion TKD Team at the ITF World Tournament in
Montreal Canada.
o 1st Place Pattern competition, and 3rd Place Board Breaking at the ITF
National Tournament, 1974

o 1995 Sent by Grandmaster Han Cha Kyo to Malaysia to celebrate 26th
anniversary of member school of Peter Lim Hok Han. Participated in
demonstrations, gave several seminars, and met with various government
officials in Kluang.
o 1990 Promoted to Fifth Degree.
o 1984 Promoted to Fourth Degree. Named assistant to Master Han Cha Kyo.
o 1981-1996 Served as Secretary General of the Universal Taekwon-Do
Federation.
o 1980 Promoted to Third Degree.
o 1976 Promoted to Second Degree.
o 1974 Began helping with the teaching of handicapped children, teaching
after-school programs, and with developing the Iso-Trim and Dyna-Strike
devices for training and health maintenance.
o Master Irvin began training Taekwon-Do in 1967 in a college martial arts
club.
Began formal training under Master Han Cha Kyo in 1972.
